Nagarkurnool: Cattle herder attacked by a wild bear in critical condition

Nagarkurnool: A man was severely injured by a wild bear near the forest region of Sagarlapally-Kudichintalabilu villages of Ambrabad mandal in Nagarkurnool district on Wednesday. The condition of the victim was stated to be very critical.

According to sources, the victim, Yerra Ramaiah (50), a cow herder and a resident of BK Laxmapur Tabellagudam in Ambrabad mandal, as usually, had taken out cattle for grazing in the nearby forest area on Wednesday morning. However, as he along with his brother reached a furlong inside the forest along with his cattle, they were surprised to see a wild bear along with its babies.

As the wild bear saw Ramaiah, it pounced on him and attacked him severely. Hearing Ramaiah's screams, his elder brother who was nearby came running with a stick. Seeing him, the wild bear left the place and ran away into the dense forest.

The severely injured man was later shifted to Achampet government hospital for treatment. The doctors after giving first aid primary treatment referred the patient to Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad for advanced treatment.
