Nagarkurnool: Collector L Sharman Chavan comes to rescue of sick, hungry,destitute
Nagarkurnool: Nagarkurnool District Collector L Sharman Chavan exhibited humanity by rescuing a hungry 70-year-old man suffering from severe fever and fatigue on Saturday.
The District Collector who was as usual on his way to the office for his duty, spotted an old man shivering with fever and sleeping on the culvert of a drain near the Collectorate.
Upon seeing the poor man, the Collector was moved and immediately stopped his car and approached the poor old man.
After enquiring about the man, it was known that the old man from Desi Itikyala village of Nagarkurnool was suffering from high fever and fatigue. Upon knowing the poor man was hungry, the Collector provided him with breakfast and immediately called an ambulance to shift the poor old man to the district government hospital.
Later, the Collector called the medical officer of the hospital and directed him to provide all necessary treatment and transportation facility to his village. Later, in the evening, after conducting all necessary health check-ups the old man was sent to his home by the hospital authorities.
Despite his busy schedule and hectic official works, the district collector took out some time to save the poor old man.
Over this, officials and the people of the district, expressed happiness at the humanity shown by the Collector. They said that they are fortunate enough to have a Collector who has a kind heart and sees people's problems with a human angle.
