Nagarkurnool: Kollapur MLA Beeram Harshavardhan Reddy has pitched with the State government for the immediate release of funds for the relief and rehabilitation (R&R) of poor tribal villagers who have lost their houses, land and livelihood because of parting with their lands for the Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation (PRRLI) project. As part of his efforts to convince the top brass of TRS party, Beeram Harshavardhan Reddy visited Pragathi Bhavan in Hyderabad on Tuesday and explained in detail the plight of tribals of 4 thandas in Kollapur mandal, who have been displaced due to the construction of canals and reservoirs under the PRRLI project.
"Under the PRRLI project, as many as 110 tribal houses in 4 thandas have been displaced. As part of this, I have met with TRS working President K Taraka Rama Rao at Pragathi Bhavan and urged him to help and immediately release the R&R package for the poor displaced tribals. We have received a positive nod and very soon the government will take up the rehabilitation and relief works for the displaced people," said the MLA.
