Nagarkurnool: Temporary job seekers in RTC cry foul

Nagarkurnool: The temporary job seekers as drivers and conductors at Kalwakurthy depot in Nagarkurnool district are crying foul as alleging that the Depot Manager of the said division was not taking the genuine unemployed youth with all the qualifications as drivers and conductors but taking those persons who are coming with recommendation letters from politicians and local leaders.

It is also alleged that the RTC authorities are taking only those candidates for temporary conductor jobs who are either related to their families or friends. The general candidates who are coming from the villages are asked to sit ideal.

"I have been visiting the Kalwakurthy RTC depot for the temporary conductor job for the last three days. Every day they are asking me to wait. I have been waiting since morning up to 3 in the afternoon.

But till date, no one offered me the conductor job. However, some candidates who have come with recommendations and who are related to the RTC staff are being preferred for the private posts.

We are demanding the government to conduct the recruitment process in a transparent manner so that the genuine and well-qualified persons are selected for the temporary jobs in the RTC," said Rajesh, a youth from Kalwakurthy.
