Naidu stopped at Shadnagar, TDP activists arrested
Shadnagar: Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, who was on his way to Kurnool stopped at Shadnagar to meet the TDP activists. The Shadnagar police laid strict police cordon and prevented the TDP activists from meeting Babu.
The police, who was notified about the meeting organised by TDP activists to meet Babu, conducted early arrests of key TDP leaders like Bakka Narasimhulu, TDP National Committee member. The police asked Babu to leave for Kurnool. "There was no permission given for the meeting between Chandrababu and TDP members. So, we took early precautions to avoid any untoward incidents," said Shadnagar police.
While commenting on the police action, the former AP Chief Minister said that Telangana government is resorting to undemocratic acts and not even allowing the TDP workers to meet him. He referred to the recent murder case of veterinary doctor Disha and demanded that the Telangana government and the police implement Nirbhaya Act and must punish those who resort to rape and murder of women stringently.
