Nalgonda: Superintendent of Police AV Ranganath on Thursday stopped a few RTC buses in Nalgonda and Narketpally areas and checked them after the allegations of fleecing of passengers with extra fare by temporary conductors engaged in RTC services surfaced.

He booked cheating cases against one Ramanjaneylu who is working as temporary conductor of Yadagirigutta depot and also against Nageshwar Rao of Khammam depot during the check.

Speaking to the media, he said following the directions of the government, the police officials have been checking the RTC buses run by temporary drivers and conductors to avoid collection of excess fair from the passengers.

Stating that collection of excess fair from passengers a crime, the SP ordered the officials concerned to put ticket cost boards in all buses to put check to irregularities by the RTC temporary staff. He informed that there was no impact on people due to RTC strike and added that above 80 per cent of buses were running in the district.
