Nalgonda :BJP workers lay siege to Nalgonda municipality

Nalgonda: Alleging that the civic body failure to provide basic facilities to residents, BJP workers laid siege to Nalgonda Municipality on Monday.

Leaders and cadre under the leader ship of party's former MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy reached the municipal office in a rally from party district office. Scuffle took place between BJP activists and police when former tried to barge into the municipal office by crossing the barricades arranged before the office.

Few workers successfully crossed the barricades and staged sit in protest before the main entrance of the office and raised slogans against the state government's negligence towards the development of Nalgonda town.

Addressing the gathering, Chintala Ramachandra Reddy stated that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is ruling like a king and works according to his whims and fancy. Even though the BJP government at the Centre had sanctioned Rs 116 crore to provide drinking water needs of people of the town under the Amruth Scheme, the State government failed to complete the works so far.

He expressed his concerned over poor facilities to the people of town and over incomplete status of underground drainage scheme which can relieve the denizens from mosquitoes and bad smell from open drainage system.

He expressed his anguish over mute spectator role of CM KCR on Disha incident and held him responsible for the death of RTC workers during the 55 days strike.

To control the situation, Two Town police arrested Chithala Rama Chandra Reddy, party district president NukalaNarsimha Reddy and other important leaders and shifted them to the nearest police stations.
