Nalgonda: Cops to step up vigilance; released jailbirds, local thugs under lens
Nalgonda: District SP AV Ranganath has directed the police to increase vigilance over the movements of criminals being released from jail and rowdy sheeters within the respective police stations.
On Thursday the SP held a crime review meeting with the police officers at the DPO following Covid-19 norms.
Speaking on the occasion, he ordered the officers to keep surveillance on day to day activities of the rowdy sheeters and warned of action against the corrupt police officials. He also said that the officials with such allegations will be punished as per the rules if charges are proved during investigation.
He further made it clear that the department has to take tough line to maintain law and order as State government has been giving the top priority to peace and harmony in the State.
Directing the officials to take steps to strengthen the surveillance system in respective police stations he said that the DSPs must monitor the matters from time to time in order to implement strict policing in their territories.
Ranganath instructed the police officials to focus on the smuggling of PDS rice, sand, gutka, ganja and poker along with following the directions of DGP in criminal investigations giving high priority to quality and perfection during the investigation.
The district SP advised police force to take all sorts of precautions while discharging duties during the present virus outbreak and added that by involving local people's representatives' department staff they have to create awareness among the rural people on Covid-19 norms, impact of pandemic in order to maintain social distance and the wearing of masks to break the corona chain.
