Nalgonda Farmers gear up for Kharif season as monsoon season only days away

Nalgonda: As monsoon is round the corner, farmers of the district are getting ready for cultivation. This year, they are focusing on the crops suggested by the State government.

As per the official information, there are six constituencies in the district and the crops proposed for monsoon based on soli type, weather conditions and water sources.

In Deverakonda constituency, of the total 2,12,171 acres land, paddy of fine varieties are proposed in19,482 acres and coarse varieties in 5,938 acres, cotton in 1,79,765 acres, red gram in 6,381 acres and other crops in 605 acres.

In Mirylaguda constituency, of the total 1,29,789 acres land, paddy of fine varieties are proposed in 76,998acres and coarse varieties in 11,530 acres, cotton in 37,880 acres, red gram in 2,711 acres and other crops in 670 acres.

in Munugodu constituency, paddy of fine varieties are proposed in5,428 acres and coarse varieties in 2,772 acres, cotton in 168565 acres, red gram in 6,788 acres and other crops in 577 acres of the total 184130 acres.

In Nagarjuna Sagar constituency, of the total 23,2965 acres land, paddy of fine varieties are proposed in 70,388 acres and coarse varieties in 14,912 acres, cotton in 1,42,390 acres, red gram in 4,135 acres. other crops in1,140 acres.

Similarly in Nakerekal constituency, of the total 1,97,350 acres land, paddy of fine varieties are proposed in 34,419 acres and coarse varieties in 28,961 acres, cotton in 1,25,950 acres, red gram in 7,516 acres and other crops in 504 acres.

Joint director of agriculture department of Nalgonda district , G.Sridhar Reddy speaking to The Hans India informed that the district has geograpical area of 17,58, 640 acres and added that proposed cotton was hiked by 4 percent of area previous year monsoon season and red gram by 51 percentage as per the regulated crop policy of the State government .

He informed that in Nalgonda district, of the total 1,067,318 acres land , paddy of fine varieties are proposed in 2,32,245 acres and coarse varieties in 90317 acres , cotton in 710475 acres , red gram in 30000 acres , other crops in 4,281 acres, daincha in 50 300 acres and sunhemp in 4040 acres and for these crops as many as 91,791 quintals of seeds and 1,42,1000 packets of cotton seeds are required. He advised farmers to follow the government instructions and department advises to get good benefits and MSP to their farm produce.
