Nalgonda: Maintain permissible moisture content for good returns, paddy farmers told

Nalgonda: District In-charge Collector V Chandra Shekar inspected paddy purchasing centre at SLBC in Nalgonda on Tuesday. After interacting with the farmers and the duty staff, he directed the officials concerned to weigh the paddy once it attains the permissible moisture percentage, and transport it to the tagged mill immediately.

Officials concerned informed the In-charge Collector that paddy purchasing was started through Primary Agriculture Cooperative Society (PACS) on October 30 at SLBC paddy procurement centre and so far, 30,200 quintals of paddy from 525 farmers was purchased at Minimum Support Price and was sent to the rice mills.

The In-charge Collector directed the duty staff to weigh the paddy after certification from agriculture official with recommended moisture.

District Marketing Officer Aleemuddin, District Civil Supplies Official Rukmini Devi, Kattangur PACS chairman Saidulu, co-operative department Senior Inspector Shyam and others accompanied the In-charge Collector.
