Nalgonda: Secretary of World Federation of Teachers Union (WFTU) MV Gona Reddy stated that union budget was disappointing with the allocation of just 3.4 per cent funds as against the 6 per cent recommended by the Kothari Commission and reiterated by various commissions thereafter.

In a press note released in Nalgonda on Friday, Gona Reddy said that at a time when the nation was about to introduce new education policy, it was very disappointing to see marginal increase in the allocation over the last year budget.

He felt that the allocation made for education system was not at all sufficient to provide quality education for all in the country. He appealed to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman to review the decision and enhance the funding to 6 per cent to put the nation on the path of development.
