Nalgonda: New crop regulatory policy aims at making farming profitable said Jagadish Reddy
Nalgonda/ Suryapet/ Yadadri-Bhongirl: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Wednesday said that CM KCR decided to implement the new Crop Regulatory Policy from this rainy season after holding a series of meetings with scientists and experts in agriculture and marketing sectors in order to make farming a profitable profession.
The Minister took part in preparatory meetings with officials, MLAs, Ryhtu Bandhu Committees on plans of government's new Crop Regulatory Policy in Nalgonda, Suryapet and Yadadri-Bhongir districts. Speaking on the occasion, he said agriculture has made new strides in the State with CM KCR's bold decision to provide MSP to farm produces to make farmers' self-sufficient. He informed that the new Crop Policy was introduced to make farmers' as partners to decide in amount of farm produce.
He said the climate of the State allows cultivation of all crops and added that the main aim of the Crop Regulatory Policy is to meet the needs f the State and to export the surplus to other places to get good returns. He explained how the State government extending the cooperation to the agriculture sector in various forms which includes round the clock free power supply, aid to cultivation under Rythu Bandhu scheme, supply of seeds and pesticides on subsidized rates, drip irrigation, construction of irrigation projects on Krishna and Godavari rivers to transform the State.
He advised farmers to follow the government and agriculture officials to get more returns on cultivated crops. He explained the preferable crops to be cultivated area wise in Nalgonda, Surypaet and Yadadri-Bhongir districts as per the government's new regulated crop policy.
He suggested the officials concerned to hold meetings in mandals and clusters to create awareness among the farmers on governments' new crop policy. In these meetings Collectors of three districts Prashanth Jeevan Patil, Vinay Krishna Reddy and Anitha Ramchandran, Rythu Bandhu Committes presidents, officials of Agriculture and Horticulture, seed Corporation officials, Rajya Sabha member Badugula Lingiah Yadav, ruling party MLAs, MLCs participated.
