Nalgonda: Reading instills confidence in students, says poet Gowri Shankar

Nalgonda: Famous poet and Hyderabad Book Fair president Juluri Gowri Shankar felt that teachers can carve a better society with the changing times.

He participated as chief guest at the headmasters meeting held at DIET school meeting hall in Nalgonda. Addressing the headmasters, he said books will help the students to enhance their reading and writing skills. He opined that diverting the students towards book reading will lead to social development.

Teacher develops thinking power of students by transforming the classroom as a lab, he added.

Teachers have to provide the required knowledge to the students for next 30 years, he advised. Stating that reading instills confidence in students, he added that reading autobiographies of famous personalities have positive impact on students. The ideas and goals formed at tender and adolescence age make a strong foundation for the students.

Students will emerge as efficient and powerful persons through book reading, he underlined.

District educational officer Bixapathi informed that Hyderabad Book House and district administration are going to conduct book fairs in 150 schools across the district in a single go.

He advised headmasters to guide the students to read cultural oriented books to transform them into good citizens of the future society.
