Nalgonda: Safe drinking water to all villages by July 30

Nalgonda: Panchayati Raj Minister for Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy stated that safe drinking water will be supplied to all villages in the district by July 30.

They also announced that all pending works will be completed within two months.

Along with CMO Secretary Smitha Sabharwal and Minister Jagadish Reddy, Minister Dayakar Rao participated in a review meeting of the status of Mission Bhagiratha scheme in the district at the district Collectorate in Nalgonda on Wednesday.

Speaking at the meeting, the Minister told the officials that the district people had become victims of fluoride as Andhra Pradesh rulers could not provide safe drinking water to this region during united Andhra Pradesh State.

They further added that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's brainchild Mission Bhagiratha (MB), which was designed to provide safe drinking water to every household in the State with an expenditure of Rs 40,123 crore, is in the final stage.

They explained the progress of the scheme with facts and figures and stressed on the need to change the contract agencies and informed that a few agencies were already changed. 95 per cent MB works were completed so far in the district and review meeting was held to correct flawed works to complete the program successfully, they added. The Ministers ordered the officials concerned to complete the pending works at the earliest.

District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil, ZP Chairman Banda Narender Reddy, MLAs Kancharla Bhupal Reddy, Nomula Narsimhaiah, Bhaskar Rao, Ravindra Naik, Chirumarthi Lingaiah, RWS engineers and officials were present at the meeting.
