Nalgonda: Shivers down the spine of villagers as they spot cheetah

Kangal (Nalgonda): A few farmers and youngsters of Ammagudem village informed that they saw a cheetah crossing the road at Bommepally stage of Kanagal mandal in the district on Wednesday.

With this, the farmers of Ammagudem, Bommepally and Kangal villages are in grip of fear. It is already known that the Forest officials shifted a cheetah to Hyderabad zoo which was caught at an agriculture field in Marriguda mandal one month ago. However, the presence of cheetah in Kangal mandal has again pushed the villagers into fear.

Kangal SI Sathish advised the farmers to not to go alone to their fields alone and asked them to inform to the forest officials for necessary action. Forest Section Officer Nagaiah, Beat Officer Soujanya along with local SI examined the pugmarks of the animal near Bommepally stage.

Ammagudem Sarpanch Kotesh and Kangal Sarpanch Sunitha requested the forest and police officials to take necessary action on war footing to keep the cheetah away from attacking villagers and cattle in their respective villages.

While local feel that wild animals are venturing into their villages due to their habitat loss, the forest officials on the other hand feel that wild animals in search of safe places where mistakenly venturing into villages.
