Narayanpet: Collector Harichandana distributes pot making equipment

Narayanpet: District Collector Harichandana along with Khadi Board Director Chandulal inaugurated pottery exhibition and later distributed pot making equipment like mixing machines, electrical wheels etc and handed over certificates to the trained candidates at a programme near BC Girls Hostel here on Wednesday.

Later addressing the gathering, the Collector said the State government is giving highest priority to the welfare of people making a livelihood through traditional employment and as part of this, providing training to interested candidates of villages and ensuring skill development among them for taking up various traditional employment. She advised the potter communities to make quality items and they can sell their produce through online and there is no need for them to worry about marketing.

Later, the Collector visited the stalls and took stock of various clay items prepared by the potters. Earlier, Khadi Director Chandulal appreciated the efforts of the Collector, who took the initiative to improve the living conditions of pot makers in the district and helped them provide necessary equipment from the government through various subsidy schemes.

Khadi Board Deputy Director SR Varma, Assistant Director Hari, Programme Officer Uday Kiran, MEPMA Project Director D Krishnama Chary, Municipal Commissioner Srinivas and Kummari Association leaders took part in the progrmame.
