Narayanpet: The activists of Progressive Democratic Students Union staged a protest in Maddur and Narayanpet mandals on Friday and demanded the TRS government to immediately fulfil all the promises made to the students and unemployed youth during elections in the State.

Narayanpet PDSU district deputy secretary Anjaneilu said that the school and college students of government schools and colleges were facing many problems as the government had failed to provide basic amenities in the educational institutions.

"The TRS government during elections had promised to expand the midday meal scheme to students of Junior Colleges, but till date, there is no word on this from the government. The girl students are suffering due to lack of proper toilets in the schools, while Chief Minster K Chandrashekar Rao got constructed bulletproof toilets for him. Here in schools, the poor students are not even having proper toilets and basic facilities like drinking water, classrooms etc. We are demanding the government to immediately fulfil the election promises it made to students or else we will intensify the agitation," said Anjaneilu.
