Narayanpet: Platform vendors must adopt digital transaction
Narayanpet: Additional Collector Chandra Reddy called on the platform vendors and shopkeepers to adapt digital transaction using QR code, which not only helps easy transactions but also avoids direct contact with people, thus protecting from getting infected with coronavirus.
He conducted a surprise inspection of platform vendors and roadside bandiwalas selling various commodities both consumables and non-consumables near old bus stand in Narayanpet on Wednesday.
Interacting with shop keepers and roadside vendors, he tried to know about their knowledge about digital transaction. The Additional Collector said all platform vendors must keep the QR code digital transaction. He also instructed marketing and municipal authorities to specifically conduct training and awareness programmes for platform vendors on the importance of digital currency and its benefits. During the inspection, we found out that majority of roadside vendors were using QR code payments, which is a good development.
However, more and more people must adopt this, Chandra Reddy said. LDM Prasanna Kumar, Municipal Commissioner Srinivasan, MEPMA Project Director Krishnama Chary and others participated in the programme.
