Nation needs a strong leader: BJP
Hanamkonda: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for Warangal Lok Sabha constituency Chintha Samba Murthy has said that TRS and Congress are certain to bite the dust in the ensuing elections to the Parliament.
"The TRS, which suffered a setback in recent elections to the Legislative Council, has now started to fear noticing the change in people's mood," he said. The TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao had even cancelled his public meeting at LB Stadium with people not turning to listen to him recently. On the other hand, unable to handle its people's representatives, the Congress is also in chaos with its MLAs one after the other defecting to TRS, he added.
Maha Kutami (Grand Alliance) floated by Congress, TDP and other parties is no more, the Federal Front idea of KCR is something of a political myth, Samba Murthy said, asserting that nation needs a strong leader like Narendra Modi. He said that both Congress and TRS are models of hereditary politics.
Speaking on the occasion, Gunde Vijaya Rama Rao, who recently joined the BJP, criticised the Congress leadership for its style of functioning. "Vexed with the policies and functioning of Congress, I joined BJP believing that Modi is the right choice to head the country," he said.
Instead of vested interests, the ensuing general election should reflect people's interests, he said, appealing to people not to fall to the guiles of some regional parties.
"In the name of Federal Front, KCR urging people to give him 16 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana. Nobody knows what KCR can do with those 16 Lok Sabha seats. It seems that KCR is more focused on Centre rather than the State to which people gave him mandate for another five years. He said that the TRS government has been diverting funds given by the Centre by renaming schemes.
Referring to KCR's claims of 24-hour power supply, he demanded that the TRS government publish a white paper on all the power purchase agreements. The State government is spending the public money to purchase it power a higher cost, he alleged.
BJP State general secretary Gujjula Premender Reddy, Warangal Urban and Rural district presidents Rao Padma Reddy and Edla Ashok Reddy were among others present.
