Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao on Friday said there is a need to fight for removal of creamy layer among the BCs in the country. He said it was of no use of fighting in the law-making bodies for the BC reservations without the removal of the creamy layer.
Speaking to media persons, Hanumantha Rao said the reservations for the BCs were not crossing even nine per cent although 26 per cent was given to them on paper.
He said the future of the BC students would be jeopardised if the creamy layer issue was not taken seriously. He said the BCs were not able to claim the benefits of the reservations even after the implementation of the Mandal Commission recommendations 26 years ago.
