New mayor Jakka Venkat Reddy vows to address local issues in Peerzadiguda

Peerzadiguda: Jakka Venkat Reddy, who assumed charge as new mayor of Peerzadiguda municipal corporation, said that he would focus on addressing drinking water, drainage and road issues in the corporation. He was speaking at the press meet organised here at Peerzadiguda Municipal Corporation office on Thursday.

Venkat Reddy said that he had signed his first signature sanctioning Rs 30 lakh for addressing drinking water, underground drainage and road works. He said that four different wings comprising 15 members each from senior citizens, intellectuals, youth and women would be formed and their suggestions would be taken for the development of the corporation. Measures were being taken to save drinking water in view of upcoming summer season and tap water would be given every alternative day, he said. Venkat Reddy promised to strive for beautification of parks after clearing encroachments. He appealed people to segregate waste and give it to garbage collectors. Proposals to shift the municipal office to MRO office or old police station of Medipally were being considered, he said. Venkat Reddy promised to complete those developmental works which were kept pending although funds were sanctioned. He warned contractors to cancel their licenses if works were not completed in time.

Corporators Pittala Mallesh, Jampala Ananth Reddy, Eshwar Reddy and others were present on the occasion.
