New Municipal Act will come into force soon: KTR in Nalgonda
Nalgonda: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao stated that new Municipal Act is going to come into force very soon. The Minister conducted a review meeting with officials of Nalgonda Municipalities at meeting hall in Nalgonda Collectorate on Monday.
Addressing the officials, the Minister said the State legislation passed the new Municipal Act in the floor of Assembly which would provide more power to punish errant officials who neglect their duties.
He advised officials concerned to create awareness among municipal staff and public on new Municipal Act. He informed that new Municipal Act is totally citizen friendly and people can track the position of the file through Electronic system, which would be introduced in all municipalities in the State. New Act makes all municipalities bribe free offices.
All municipalities must adopt the green action plan and 10 per cent of the municipality budget will be allocated to the plan, he added.
Education Minister Jagadish Reddy, ZP chairman Banda Narender Reddy, Collector Gaurav Uppal, SP AV Ranganath, MLC T Chinapa Reddy, MLAs Bhupal Reddy, Chirumarthi Lingaiah, Gadari Kishore, Bollam Mallaiah Yadav, Bhaskar Rao, Nomula Narsimhaiah, Ravindra Kumar, District Officials, Commissioners and officials of various municipalities in the district took part.
Later, in a separate programme K T Rama Rao along with Jagadish Reddy and MLA Bhupal Reddy participated in Nalgonda constituency level party workers meeting held. He boosted the confidence of party workers with his power packed speech and assured to honour the committed party workers with suitable nominated and party posts.
