New twist in Hayath Nagar woman kidnap case

The accused who kidnapped the B Pharmacy student has been identified as Ravi Sekhar, said the police adding that he was involved in several criminal cases in the past and hails from Vijayawada.

Ravi who claimed himself a doctor kidnapped the woman from their hotel on the pretext of offering a job. He arrived in a car and took the woman, her father and brother. Later the accused dropped them mid-route and escaped with the girl.

The car used by the accused was also stolen in Karnataka, said police. Bengaluru and Vijayawada police launched a hunt to nab Ravi Sekhar.
