NIMS Hyderabad sets up special ward to treat Coronavirus affected doctors

With the medical staff who are treating Coronavirus patients have effected with COVID-19 in last couple of days in Telangana. Meanwhile, the NIMS hospital authorities in consultation with government has decided to set up a special covid ward with 200 beds for the treatment of doctors affected with covid-19.

Doctors treating coronavirus patients in Telangana state are slowly getting sick. A special covid ward is being set up in NIMS to provide treatment to VIPs and doctors to protect them. The doctors from Osmania, Petlaburju Maternity Hospital and NIMS hospitals have reportedly affected with Coronavirus. It is revealed that the existing hospitals has more advanced accommodation facilities than the Gachibowli TIMS hospital. There are up to 150 ventilators in the NIMS, along with more than one hundred monitors in the ICU and over three hundred oxygen ports. In addition to this, there are also experienced doctors, who are preparing to treat patients at Covid ward at NIMS.

Currently, 26 doctors at NIMS Hospital are detected with Coronavirus and all are currently being treated in the Millennium Block. The Coronavirus affected departments have already been shut down. The special block of OPD medical and surgical treatment in Cardiology, Gastroenterology and Out Patients on Gastroenterology departments were shut for the past two days. With the increasing number of coronavirus positives for medical staff day by day, there is growing concern among doctors across the state.
