Nine held for cricket betting in Kothagudem

Kothagudem: The Kothagudem police on Monday arrested nine persons for organising cricket betting in the coal town and seized cash of Rs 82,500 besides nine mobile phones from their possession.

Presenting the arrested persons before the media in Three Town police station, Circle Inspector Adinarayana said the police have raided a house on a tip-off and nabbed the accused red handed.

The arrested were identified as M Srinivas, K Butchi, Ramulu, B Ravi, B Satyanarayana, P Janardhan Rao, S Shiva Kiran, R Raju and J Satyanarayana. They would be produced in the court for further action, the CI Stated. He also warned of stringent action if anyone indulges in cricket betting.

Sub-Inspectors Srinivas Rao, Anusha, head constable Subba Rao, constables Ramulu and Rambabu were present during the press briefing.
