Nirmal: Sports will help students to develop both mentally and physically, stated Forest and Endowments Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy. He inaugurated 65th SGF zonal meet at Mujgi village under Nirmal mandal by lighting a lamp on Tuesday.

Addressing the participants, the Minister said sports will help the students to grow mentally and keep them physically fit and develop friendship among the students. He asked them to participate at State and national-level competitions to bring medals and good name to the district.

Stating that the government is spending crores of rupees on education and development of infrastructure in the State for the development of students, he urged the students to utilize the opportunity. For the development of villages, the government implemented 30-day action plan.

The development of green cover will continue and teachers should plant saplings in the premises of their schools and must protect them. In every village sanitation workers should collect the garbage daily and shift it to dumping yard.

The Minister said that the government had increased their salary to Rs 8500 and solved water problem with Mission Bhagiratha. Besides, Rythu Beema, Rythu Bandhu and free electricity has been launched to develop farmers financially, he added.

He said that inspections teams will check the works of 30-day action plan in villages across the State.

Minister Reddy felicitated Santosh, who won medals at national-level competitions. Later he visited Primary Health Centre in the village.

FACS chairman Ramakrishna Reddy, MPP Rameshwar Reddy, ZP option member Subhash Rao, DEO Pranitha, MPTC Sairam, Sarpanch Polasa Rajamani and others were present.
