Nirmal: Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy inaugurates soil testing centre
Nirmal: Revenue Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy on Tuesday said that every farmer should carry out the soil test of their fields and cultivate suitable crops as per the suggestions and advice of scientists.
The Minister inaugurated a soil testing center, constructed at a cost of Rs 30 lakh in Nirmal district.
The Minister said that in the past, the farmers of the district had to go to Adilabad for soil tests, which was not only costly but also take time. Noting the plight of the farmers, the government set up a soil testing center at a cost of Rs 30 lakh. From now on, farmers in the district will be able to carry out soil tests at no cost to the rupee. They will know the results in 72 hours.
The Minister also directed the agriculture officials to arrange for a field visit to Aswaravu Peta to educate the farmers on foil cultivation. He said the government would provide a subsidy of Rs 26,000 for the first year, Rs 5,000 for the second year and Rs 5,000 for the third year to promote foil cultivation. Farmers want to adopt the crop rotation method. The Minister said that medical and nursing colleges have been sanctioned to the district as Nirmal district is moving ahead in the development trajectory. If the medical college works start, it will be further developed.
Venkatram Reddy, president of the Farmers' Coordinating Committee, said the Minister had worked hard to build a soil testing center in the district so that farmers could benefit. The Minister then handed over the certificates to 38 dealers trained under the DAESI programme.
Mandal president Rameshwar Reddy, Adilabad AD Prasad District Agriculture Officer Anjiprasad, Adilu Koteshwar Rao, Vinay Babu, Veena, Indrasen, Evolu, staff and others were present.
