Nizamabad: 1.60 cr donation for Palle Pragathi
Nizamabad: Following a call by District Collector C Narayana Reddy for donations to develop their villages and to improve facilities in the schools, more alumni are coming forward and extending financial assistance.
On Monday, alumni had donated Rs 1.60 crore for Palle Pragathi programme and handed over the cash to the Collector.
Dr. Gopi Krishna from Chikli village of Makloor Mandal, village sarpanch and ward members meet the Collector at his chamber in Nizamabad on Monday and donated Rs. 1.20 lakh for the development of their village.
Rachakonda Srinivas Goud of Gadkol village of Sirikonda mandal extended a financial help of RS 11 lakh and his father Deve Goud gave the cheque to the Collector.
Lauding their generosity, the Collector asked them to visit their villages after the municipal elections. Once the elections are over, the construction works of individual toilets, soak pits, graveyards, dumping yard and others will be completed, he added.
