Nizamabad: District Collector C Narayana Reddy has instructed the managements of educational institutions not to pressure the students to wear masks to prevent spread of coronavirus.

Speaking at a meeting with the officials of Drugs Control department at his chamber here on Thursday, he instructed the schools' management to grant leave and send home those students, who has cough and fever. Also, he urged the government to take measures to make masks available in all medical shops. At the same time, he directed the Drugs Control officials to check the medical shops every day to know if they are selling the masks more than the MRP and to ensure that there is no shortage of masks.

The Collector told the officials to educate the public about the

coronavirus, its symptoms and preventive methods. He warned the medical shop owners and others not to take financial advantage of

coronavirus situation.

Collector Narayana Reddy ordered the medical shop owners to sell masks to the patients if the doctor prescribes for it and to give a bill for the masks they sell. The Drug Control Department and Weight and Measurement Officers have been ordered to strictly check for any irregularities that may take place in the sales of masks.

Later, the Collector released pamphlets regarding awareness on coronavirus. Drugs Control Department Assistant Director Dr Rajyalakshmi, Inspectors Hemalatha and Praveen were present at the meeting along with others.
