Nizamabad Lok Sabha seat enters Country Book of World Records
The Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Telangana State have created an official record in the Country Book of World Records for the conduct of polls in Nizamabad parliamentary constituency with the highest number of candidates contesting in an election for the seat of a Member of Parliament.
The Country Book of World Records approved the records and has sent letters to Nizamabad parliamentary constituency elected representative and Election Commission of India.
The 185 candidates contesting in Nizamabad necessitated 12 Ballot Units in all 1,788 polling stations and additional VVPATS in polling stations with over 1,200 electors. There were 26,820 Ballot Units, 2,000 control units and 2,000 VVPATS which were prepared for the election by 600 engineers and 2,000 election personnel in five days using 15 halls with 149 tables.
The Country Book of World Records is planning to present records through the President of India and Prime Minister shortly.
