Nizamabad: District secretaries K Yadagiri (CPI (ML) New Democracy), Ramesh Babu (CPM), and Sudhakar (CPI) urged all sections of the people and business community to join hands with Telangana State bandh to be held on October 19 in support of the RTC employees' strike.

Left parties and public groups organised mass protest at Dharna Chowrastha here on Thursday in support of the RTC workers' strike. Left leaders criticised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for his tyrannical and stubborn behaviour towards the RTC employees, who has been on strike for the last 13 days. They demanded that the government should discuss the issue with the trade unions immediately as the public are facing inconvenience due to the strike.

Meanwhile, the RTC employees criticised that the government is vicious as it is not coming for a meeting with them.

The government has to face the wrath of the RTC employees, political parties and the general public if it attempts to privatise the RTC. Reminding their role in the movement for separate Telangana State, they challenged the TRS government to lead another Telangana movement.

The RTC employees demanded for the merger of RTC with the government and to solve the workers' problems. The movement will continue till then, they cautioned.

Party leaders V Krishna, V Prabhakar, Papaiah, Bhoomiah, Mallikarjun, ND Bhaskar, leaders of public associations Nurjahan, Sudhakar, Ramakrishna, Bhumaiah, Sabbani Latha, Govardhan, Kalpana, Suri, Raghuram, Anil and others participated.
