Nizamabad: Muslim League demands action against graveyard Mutawallis

Nizamabad : Indian Union Muslim League general secretary Abdul Gani has demanded immediate suspension and strict legal action against the Mutawallies(caretakers) of Muslims graveyards for refusing to give land to bury the dead body of late Mohd Khaja as he was an outsider.

He also appealed to the Waqf Board should take strict note of this shocking incident and called immediately a board meeting and issue an order to all the graveyards Mutawallies of Telangana that any Muslim dies anywhere in Telangana should be allowed to buried in nearby graveyards without any objections and claims from concern Mutawallies, it's high time for appropriate action to be taken by government in this regards early.

IUML on Saturday presented a representation to Additional Collector Local Bodies BS Latha in Nizamabad.

Recently, a very shocking incident took place in Hyderabad where a Muslim person name late Mohd Khaja, 55, who had migrated to Hyderabad from Gadwal 10 years ago, died due to heart attack in Hyderabad and the deceased family approach nearby Muslims graveyard to bury him.

The Mutawalli refused to give land for burial saying it as non local and suspected he might have died due coronavirus, like wise they approach various graveyards at Masjid Rahmatulilalameen, Dargah Lungerhouse, Langerhouse police station opposite, Perancharu, Suncity, Masjid Qutubshayee, and all the caretakers (Mutawallies) refuse to bury Mohd Khaja dead body in their respective Qabrastans, at long last with no option left for deceased family finally they were forced to buried Muslim dead body in Hindu graveyard (Shamshan Ghat).

It's a matter of shock and grave concerns for not allowing to bury deceased Muslims in the graveyard by Mutawallies. It is a very shameful act and a heinous crime which is highly condemnable, said Muslim League State general secretary. He demanded authorities to take action against the Mutawallis.
