On World Population Day, DMHO Sudershanam flagging off an awareness rally on population control in Nizamabad on Thursday

Nizamabad: District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) Sudershanam said population growth is a hindrance to the national development.

On World Population Day he flagged off a rally at the Collectorate here on Thursday, organised by District Medical and Health Department.

Sudershanam said people should take the responsibility for controlling the population and having too many children will also affect women's health. Natural resources are limited and inadequate for the existing population and if the population increases further then there will be no resources for the people.

The DMHO said there are several temporary and permanent methods for family control and that the people should be educated about these methods. He observed a family with only one child can provide everything the child needs and if there are too many children, then the parents may not be able even to feed the children properly.

Deputy DMHO Thukaram Rathod, Demo Gangadhar, Venkatesh, AO Shobhan, Asha workers, nursing students and others participated in the rally.
