Nizamabad: Seven apprehended in cordon and search, 61 vehicles seized

Nizamabad: On the instructions of Nizamabad Police Commissioner Kartikeya, the police conducted cordon and search at Koza and Islampura colonies under I Town police station limits here on Friday.

They apprehended 7 suspects and seized 50 two-wheelers and 11 auto-rickshaws. Speaking to reporters, Kartikeya said 165 police personnel divided into nine teams and searched 400 houses in both colonies. He asked owners not to give their houses on rent without verifying the credentials of the tenants.

The police commissioner said that residents should inform to a nearest police station if they find any new person moving suspiciously in their localities. He stated that the police will file cases on vehicle owners if others take their vehicles and commit crimes. When locals informed about illegal timber activities running in residential colonies, he instructed the forest officials to close them immediately. DCP (Armed Reserve) Bhaskar, ACPs Srinivas Kumar, and Balu Jadhav and other police officials took part in cordon and search.
