Nizamabad: Pharmacist Vinod Kumar, who works at the Urban Public Health Centre at Chandrashekar Colony in Nizamabad was suspended. District Collector C Narayana Reddy on Monday issued suspension orders as Vinod Kumar was on unauthorised absence.
The Collector paid a surprise visit to the Urban Health Centre here on Monday and checked the attendance register.
He questioned Health Officer Nageshwar Reddy for coming late and outraged as pharmacist Vinod Kumar was absent without prior information. When he questioned the staff about the absence of accountant Vandana, her colleagues told him that she went for a medical checkup. But the Collector was not satisfied and questioned whether she didn't know to take prior permission. He directed the senior officials to issue a memo to Vandana.
Narayana Reddy ordered District Medical and Health Officer Sudarshanam to issue memos to Dr Nageshwar Reddy and attendant Chand Pasha, who came late for duty. He checked the attendance register and the details of the patients in the hospital and ordered the staff to follow the timings strictly.
He directed the ACP to take steps to prevent local hooligans from consuming alcohol and other disturbances in the hospital premises.
Meanwhile, doctors and medical employees union members alleged that DM&HO Sudarshanam deliberately brought the Collector to inspect the hospital.
