Nizamabad to be developed with 300 crore: Minister Prashanth Reddy

Nizamabad: Minister for Transport, Road and Buildings and Legislative Affairs Vemula Prashanth Reddy said that Nizamabad city being developed with about Rs 300 crores.

He inaugurated an underground drainage treatment plant constructed at a cost of Rs 246 crores here on Wednesday and said that they have completed the sewage treatment plant (STP), which hadn't done for the past forty years.

Local MLA Ganesh Gupta appreciated engineers and officials for their hard work for the successful completion of STP and thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for granting the funds.

Stating that the STP is constructed with such a technology, which facilitated to construct the entire plant in just 18 acres instead of 88 acres land, the MLA said two bedroom houses, collectorate building, IT hubs and parks will be developed in the remaining 70 acres.

MLA Ganesh Gupta said that roads at a cost of Rs 125 crores will be laid in Nizamabad city. Roads worth Rs 50 crores have already completed and roads worth Rs 75 crores will be constructed soon.

He said that they are beautifying the city with drainage, roads, drinking water and streetlights. Drinking water will be supplied to Nizamabad from the Sri Ram Sagar Project (SRSP) and Alisagar through Mission Bhagiratha, he said.

Urban MLA B Gupta, who presided over the event, said the action plan was formulated in 1989 but not implemented till date. Also, the people have been troubling with damaged roads, water problems etc. After the TRS came to power, it took up Mission Bhagiratha,underground drainage and Amrut works, he added.

MLA B Gupta thanked Chief Minister KCR for granting funds for these works immediately and added that this STP water will be diverted to Ellaiah tank.

District Collector M Rammohan Rao said the sewage water will be diverted to the pond after the STP is cleaned, without polluting the environment and to avoid mosquito

menace.

Zilla Parishad Chairman Dadannagari Vittal Rao, Legislative Council members Akula Lalitha, Rajeshwara Rao, Municipal Commissioner John Samson, Madhusudan Reddy, Hyderabad SE R&B Devanand, NUDA Chairman Prabhakar Reddy and others participated in the event.
