No entry for Maharashtra passengers into Telangana

Hyderabad: The new guidelines announced by the Union Government under lockdown 5 is set to give a relief to the Telangana Government which has been waiting for more relaxations to the business establishments mainly the hospitality industry.

Soon after the announcement of the extension of the lockdown till June 30 in all containment zones on Saturday evening, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao reviewed the enforcement of lockdown 4 which will come to an end on Sunday.

The chief minister asked the officials to take steps to follow the new set of guidelines, including unrestricted inter – state movement of persons and goods.

However, the government will not allow the passenger travel from Maharashtra which registered the highest number of coronavirus cases in the country.

The public transport services between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is likely to resume in a week as the RTC authorities will have to take necessary safety measures for the passengers travelling between the two states.

As announced by the Centre, the government will also permit the hotels, malls, restaurants and hospitality services to resume the operations from June 8.

A meeting with the managements of all hotels will be conducted to address the hurdles in providing safety to the visitors.

The Chief Minister will hold a meeting on Sunday on the implementation of the lockdown in the state and take some more measures to check the growing number of virus cases in Hyderabad particularly.

Sources said that the government will also discuss whether to allow the religious place to open from June first week. To ensure safety, regulations on the movement of devotees to the holy places will be finalised shortly.
