No malaria cases found in Asifabad

Asifabad: District Medical and Health officer Dr Kumram Balu told Multipurpose health workers to prevent malaria, dengue and viral infections.

He said the department has distributed 2,967 mosquito nets to 15 KGBV school students in the district, 2,724 mosquito nets to 8 Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Schools (TTWRS) students between September 11 and September 23.

He was addressing the district level meeting with MPHAs on field level actions plan held at DM and HO office in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district on Thursday.

Dr Balu said about 1,40,000 mosquito nets were distributed in the villages where malaria was high in 2016 -2017 in the district. In Kumram Bheem Asifabad district no calaria cases were found so far. DMHO instructed the officials concerned to create awareness among the people and warned not to neglect their duties, serious actions will be taken on them.

Mallaria officer D.Sudhakar Naik told health assistants to maintain village surroundings with the cooperation of panchayat secretaries and to collect blood samples regularly in their respective villages. Vasudev, Ashok, Punnaiah, MPHAs and others were present.
