Hyderabad: Law Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy on Saturday made it clear that there was no proposal with the State Government to shift the Telangana High Court.

Replying to the debate on Demands for Law ministry in Legislative Assembly, the minister said that the government neither took any decision nor initiated any steps to shift the High Court. He informed that the State Government would soon fill 1,554 vacancies in various courts. Further, he said representations have been made to set up Judicial Courts in newly formed districts of Telangana State. He said that the government was taking all measures to ensure the delivery of justice to the people without delays.

Indrakaran Reddy said that a separate High Court for Telangana came into existence after a struggle of four-and-a-half years. He said Munsif Courts, Fast Track Courts, District Courts and Special Courts have been established by the government. He said that the Legal Services Authority was functioning very efficiently and a large number of pending cases were being resolved through Lok Adalats. He denied the allegation of opposition legislators of non-release of funds to Bar Associations.
