No positive coronavirus case so far in TS: Telangana Government
Hyderabad: Even as second coronavirus positive case surfaced in Kerala on Sunday, the Telangana government, which is on a high-alert, declared that no positive case has been registered in the State so far.
Health Minister Eatala Rajender stated that they are monitoring the situation very closely and urged the people not to get panicked at all.
The Health Minister held a teleconference on this subject with senior officials of the health department on Sunday.
He wanted pulmonologists in all government hospitals to be available for duty on call as suspected cases are on the rise. Eatala directed officials to make arrangements in all teaching hospitals to admit coronavirus suspected cases.
At present, Fever, Gandhi and Chest hospitals are catering to patients with travel history to China. The Minister stated that nCoV sample tests would commence in Gandhi Hospital from Monday.
He said that lab in Gandhi is equipped with kits that can conduct tests on 30 samples every day. However, he said that the testing time for each sample is nearly 10 hours. Meanwhile, one fresh suspected case was admitted in Fever Hospital on Sunday.
Till now doctors took swab samples of 19 patients, out of which 11 had come negative and reports of 8 are being awaited, according to health bulletin issued by the health department.
