No respite in sight as Telangana records 51 new cases

Corona Positive Cases continue to rise in Telangana

Hyderabad: Cases continue to rise in Telangana. On Tuesday, 51 fresh positive cases were seen, with 37 in GHMC limits while 14 were migrants. Another two persons died while 21 persons were discharged.

Of the 14 migrants in fresh cases, 12 hail from Yadadri-Bhongir district while two are fom Jagtial district. Till now, 25 migrants have tested with 20 of them having roots in Yadadri district and all of them have returned from Mumbai.

In view of migrants testing positive, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has instructed the Health department officials to screen all migrants returning to the State. Those who are symptomatic have to undergo sample testing, while asymptomatic ones have to be kept in home quarantine or government quarantine facilities.

Public were told to inform local authorities if any new persons or migrants were found to have newly arrived in their neighbourhood in towns and villages.

To screen migrants entering the State, 275 health teams comprising 1000 members were deployed at 87 check posts in the border districts.

Meanwhile, the two deaths that occurred on Tuesday were of senior citizens. While one was a male from Moosa Bowli who died of co-morbidities like hypertension, the other person (a 65 year old male from Jiyaguda) was admitted in Gandhi hospital on Tuesday after being referred from KIMS, Hyderabad. He is suffering from diabetes and hypertension. He died on the same day after admission in Gandhi Hospital.
