No time for prep: AISF demands postponement of Degree exams

Update: 2019-11-17 00:15 IST

Mahbubnagar: The All India Students Federation (AISF) and National Students Union of India members of Mahbubnagar district urged the Palamuru University registrar to postpone the Degree first and second year semester exams at least one month.

While expressing their dissent over the unilateral decision of authorities of Palamuru University to release notification for the conduct of semester exams for the first and second year degree students, D. Ramu, assistant secretary, AISF Telangana and M. Ramesh NSUI State member said the DOST admissions were concluded only in the last week of August 2019, and the classes for students were conducted for just 2 months and the remaining days have been wasted in holidays, strikes and protest.

"Not even 50 per cent portion of the subject syllabus has been taught in the classes. Moreover, due to the RTC strike the students of rural areas have lost many classes. Keeping all this in mind we are requesting the PU authorities to postpone the Degree exams for at least one month and conduct special classes or extra classes for the students to complete the syllabus. Or else the students will be at great loss," said D. Ramu.

C. Raju, Mahbubnagar district AISF secretary, Banti, Dam Anji, Srinu and others participated in the programme.
