Not invited to meet, Congress MLA to slap privilege notice on Singareni
Hyderabad: Congress MLA D Sridhar Babu on Wednesday said that he would serve a privilege notice on the chairman and managing director of Singareni Collieries for not inviting him to the meeting held to discuss the company's affairs.
Addressing the media, he said that Minister K Eeswar conducted a meeting on the SCCL issues on Tuesday and invited MLAs and MPs of TRS. Though he represents the Manthani constituency which is also part of the Collieries, he was not invited.
He alleged that the Minister was afraid of facing questions on the rehabilitation of affected families of the Collieries in old Karimnagar district. He said that the Minister was also afraid of facing questions on turning the underground mines into open cast ones.
The Minister and officials of Collieries spent lakhs of rupees at Seven Star resort on the outskirts of Hyderabad for the review meeting. He wondered from where the money had come for such a lavish meeting when the government has no money to protect the interest of striking RTC workers.
