Hyderabad: Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Saturday said the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has not asked any of the Congress MLAs to join the party.

Addressing a press conference here with MLC M Sreenivas Reddy, Srinivas Yadav said the TRS has 29 more MLAs than the actual majority (61) in the Assembly and there was no need for the party to request others to come. "We have not gone to anyone nor have we asked them to join the TRS. Let us see if someone else wants to join," said Yadav.

The Minister lashed out at the Congress party leaders for taking up 'save democracy' and alleging that there was no democracy in the State.

"There is a big drama going on at Indira Park. The Congress party leaders are taking up protests only for photoshoot. What do you know about democracy? You have misused Constitution many times," Yadav questioned.

He alleged that the Congress party used to give only 50 per cent funds to the opposition MLAs but the TRS government is giving 100 per cent funds to MLAs irrespective of the parties.

When asked about how a national party can be merged with regional party, the TRS leader said only legislature party was merged.

"It is not merger of the party. Majority of MLAs have decided to merge legislature party. For example, you have three brothers in a family and if one of them wants to move away what you can the others do? The Congress leaders are also doing the same, leaving the Congress party," Yadav said.

Replying to a question, Yadav said, "What will the Congress leaders' question? They can't even sit for five hours in the Assembly. They don't even sit with unity and sit in groups in the House."
