Notorious burglar arrested, booty recovered
Hyderabad: Saroornagar Police on Saturday arrested an alleged notorious burglar who recently committed theft of Rs 35,000 and 5,000 US Dollars from a house at Champapet.
The police claimed to have recovered 5,000 US dollars (Rs 3.5 lakh) from the possession of the alleged burglar. The accused was identified as Jatavath Santhosh Naik (26).
According to the police, Santhosh Naik was addicted to bad vices and to fund his lavish expenses, earlier he had committed nine house burglaries under the limits of Rachakonda and Hyderabad Police Commissionerates.
In the early hours of May 13, the police said persons, idenfitied as Indravath Suresh, Jatavath Santhosh Naik and B Balaji clandestinely entered the house of Dr Syam Prasad, resident of Vaishalinagar Colony, Champapet.
Santhosh Naik and Suresh broke open all the four almirahs and committed theft of a purse containing Rs 35,000 and 5,000 US Dollars and decamped with the booty, the police.
Suresh was arrested on 15 May and recovered portion of stolen property and remanded him in judicial custody and on Saturday another accused Santosh was arrested at his residence and recovered 5,000 US Dollars. Efforts are being made to nab the B Balaji, who is still at large.
