NSUI stage protest in Warangal demanding release of its activists arrested
Warangal: Demanding release of their leaders, the NSUI activists staged a protest near Kakatiya University (KU) Gate-I here on Thursday. The protestors sought the release of NSUI State President B Venkat and others who tried to lay siege to Pragathi Bhavan in Hyderabad as part of their protest on Wednesday. It may be mentioned here that the NSUI has been demanding the State Government to promote all the end semester students instead of conducting examinations in view of coronavirus pandemic crisis.
Stating that the arrest was undemocratic, NSUI State General Secretary Aluvala Karthik said that it shows the highhandedness of the police. The protestors threatened that they would intensify their stir if the government fails to accept to their demands, besides releasing their leaders. "We will lay siege to the residences of ministers and legislators," the NSUI district vice-president Pallakonda Sathish warned.
Later, the protestors burned the effigy of State Government. District leaders Premchand, nagarajuM Arun, Vikram, Venkatesh and Yashwanth were among others present.
