Karimnagar: Some political leaders will never get tired of repeated defeat and like legendary king Vikramaditya they try their luck in every election.

The results of general elections in Karimnagar district for the past six decades shows the leaders, who are nevertheless fighting for victory.

There are Jagtial and Korutla Assembly segments in the erstwhile Karimnagar district and Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency. As many as 185 candidates in Nizamabad; 16 in Karimnagar and 17 candidates are contesting for Peddapalli elections.

For Karimnagar LS seat, four candidates in 2004 elections; 15 candidates in 2009; 17 candidates in 2014; and in the ensuing election 15 candidates are contesting.

In Peddapalli, six persons in 2004; 15 candidates in 2009; and 17 candidates contested in 2014 elections. In the ensuing LS election, 17 candidates are in the fray.

These candidates conducted their own campaign and worked with the voters at field-level.

A few out of these candidates have been defeated several times in the past. BJP candidate Bandi Sanjay Kumar has been repeatedly defeated in 2014 and 2018 Karimnagar Assembly elections.

Ponnam Prabhakar got defeated as MP in 2014 elections from Karimnagar. He again tasted failure in Karimnagar Assembly elections held in 2018. Sanjay and Prabhakar are now in the fray to try their luck again.

In 2009, MP B Vinod Kumar was defeated by Ponnam Prabhakar.

In Peddapalli, BJP candidate S Kumar lot to Dharmapuri in the previous Assembly elections. Now again he is contesting the LS elections on BJP ticket.

Gaddal Vinay Kumar, Veluthuru Malliah names have shown in every election ballot paper.

TRS candidate for Peddapalli LS constituency Venkatesh Netha lost to Balka suman in 2018 elections for Chennur segment.

Five-time MLA from Vikarabad and former Minister Dr Agam Chandrashekar got defeated in 2009 elections and making a comeback as Congress candidate for Peddapalli constituency.

There is a famous quote 'patience pays', which these leaders might be believing strongly.

Let us hope at least this time their efforts bear fruits and become successful in the coming LS elections.
