Obstruction of Union Minister on JNU campus condemned
Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana State, chief spokesperson, K Krishna Saagar Rao condemned students obstructing Union Minister of State Dr Jitender Singh from speaking at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi on abrogation of Article 370.
In a statement here on Thursday, he termed the students obstructing amounts to intolerance and working against constitutionally provided right to freedom of expression.
He said as much as the leftist groups in JNU have a right to express their views, so does anyone with alternate views and ideology.
Obstructing others from expressing their views exposes the duplicity and hypocrisy of the leftist student groups on the JNU campus.
Adding, in a democracy anyone can protest, but shouldn't obstruct. The leftist student groups have become divisive instruments on the JNU campus and are driving the agenda of India's distractors.
Not letting the Union Minister speak on abrogation of Article 370 on JNUcampus is not just a serious violation of his personal rights but also the university norms. The Bharatiya Janata Party demanded serious action on the students who obstructed the event.
