Offer pooja to clay Ganesh: Minister Indrakaran
Nirmal: Purchase Ganesh idols made with clay only to protect environment for the Ganesh festival, Forest and Environment, Endowment, Law and Order Minister A Indrakaran Reddy gave a call to the people.
Speaking at a Ganesh idol distribution programme organised by Pollution Control Board at Minister Camp Office in Nirmal on Wednesday, the Minister said in order to protect the environment, Telangana Pollution Control Board has been distributing 1.50 lakh clay Ganesh idols across the State. He stated 'Rangulu Vaddu Matte Muddu' (say no colours, clay is good). He said the water will get contaminated after the Ganesh idols made with Plaster of Paris are immersed in ponds or tanks.
The survival of human beings depends on the environment. Everyone should feel responsible and should not use colourful idols and must use idols made with clay, he explained. The Ganesh idol distribution will continue till September 1.
Later Minister Indrakaran Reddy planted saplings on the premises of Minister Camp Office.
Agricultural Market Committee Chairman Dharmaji Rajendar, FACS Chairman Ramkishan Reddy, Devarakota Devasthanam Chairman Ameda Kishan, former Municipal Chairman Gandrath Eshwar, Medaram Pradeep, Dr U Krishnamraju, Gandrath Ramesh, Akoji Kishan, Marukonda Ramu and others were present at the programme.
