Official conduct surprise inspections of seed shops in Wanaparthy
Wanaparthy: The Agriculture and Vigilance police conducted surprise inspections at the seed sellers and dealers shops in Pebbair mandal of Wanaparthy district on Saturday.
The police Sub Inspector Raghavender along with Agriculture officials lead by Chandramouli of Pebbair conducted surprise inspections at the seed sellers and fertiliser sellers' shops and checked the registers and other log books of the seed sellers.
While speaking on the occasion, the agriculture officer warned the seed sellers of serious action if they are found selling spurious seeds to the farmers. He instructed the seed sellers to maintain the records of each and every transaction and sales they have made and advised them to ensure everything is transparent and accountable, or else warned them that they will not hesitate to seize the shops and book cases against them. "As per the State government's directions, the seed sellers are instructed to ensure good quality of small variety paddy, red gram, jawar and other suggested seeds should be sold to the farmers. If any seed dealer is found going against the government's orders, we will take strict action against them," said Chandramouli.
